Alosa alosa and A. fallax are anadromous species in Eurasia that have adapted to freshwater environments in several locations throughout their ranges. I will discuss our ongoing work on population structure in A. alosa and A. fallax and the effects of hybridization between the two species. In addition, I will outline our work on the genetics of their adaptations to freshwater environments.
Stephen Sabatino is post-doctoral researcher at CIBIO-InBIO. Stephen’s research focuses on understanding the genetics of ecological adaptation in anadromous species under the advisement of Paulo Alexandrino (AGE Group).
